Action Learning

If you like to work with others, sharing and learning with a group of peers, Action Learning might be for you.  Its a highly effective approach for facing today’s challenges – in the workplace, the market, in leadership and management and in life.  Action Learning is about working through live issues, personal or professional, in order to gain new perspectives and ideas. Action Learning Sets are small groups of up to 6 peers, who meet usually for 6 meetings over 12 months with a skilled facilitator.  The way we work is simple:

  • we put together groups of peers who want to explore similar issues
  • we run groups virtually, by conference calling, from anywhere in the world; or face to face in London, Manchester, and York
  • you come to a one – off, no commitment, “give it a go session” with others to see if the group mix works
  • if the group gells, you all make agreements around confidentiality, dates etc
  • at each session, you take turns to set out a current issue for exploration, and the group then asks non-judgemental questions that help you gain clearer understanding, fresh perspectives and insights
  • you then decide on some practical action, new behaviour or thinking, that will help you shift things
  • at the next meeting, you review progress, and perhaps address some of the obstacles or opportunities that have opened up and then present a new or related issue
  • all sessions are facilitated by an experienced action learning set facilitator
