small steps for work life flow

by Admin on November 14, 2020

In a time of global pandemic is ‘balance’ the way to describe our relationship to work, home, life?

There really isn’t an equal split on a spectrum between life and work!  We wonder if there ever was as this is different for different people anyway  ….. and many things come into these categories of work and life …

So it’s hard to think of balance when some of us are living at work, living at school, living 24/7/52 in a small space alone or sharing space, wifi, work life with family or house mates …

So we search for some other ways to look at this  –  and maybe it’s about bringing in variety, developing new rhythms, new routines and practises.

Some writers talk about work life effectiveness or work life integration but we like the idea of work life flow to bring about the Good Life …

Energy

Notice what gives you energy and drains your energy. Take a look at Martin Seligman’s PERMA Model for some hints on how to tap into more of what makes you feel good, resourceful and happy.

Values

Think about what your top three values are and use these to guide how you set boundaries, how you prioritise and where you put your attention.

If you what to explore your values you can use the free VIA character tool or work with us to explore your values and strengths to develop a greater sense of purpose and clarity.

Setting boundaries

Personal boundaries are important because they guide how you want to be treated.

Boundaries are basic guidelines that people create to establish how others are able to behave around them. Setting boundaries can ensure that relationships can be mutually respectful, appropriate, and caring. You might want to think about your boundaries in the context of your values.

We will take each of these and expand on them in our next few posts.
